Nonsense North Korea

 ︎

Manifest is a UK travel exhibition. We look into the little known truth about different countries, their cultures, laws and histories. This year the topic is what is considered to be one of the most repressive authoritarian states in the world - North Korea. The name ‘Nonsense North Korea’ resonates with the fact that to the rest of the world, North Korean lifestyle is a field for many questions about a distant world, governed by a single family.

Each piece of the exhibition corresponds to some piece of information about the country, which we have collected from leaked online sources. The show’s imagery is a vision of Communist Utopia - colored walls and products, displays of brightly hued risograph posters and painted advertising.  A collaboration project with Nikoletta Hristova, Abbey Clayton, Josh Rainey, and Daria Gola.
