 Rakia Font Family
 ︎

The best typefaces are as much part of the 21st century as of the age when they were created. They transcend time and place. Rakia Font Family is derived from the masthead of the old Bulgarian newspaper from 1940 - “Narodna Otbrana” (National Defence), which looks contemporary compared to the rest of the fonts used in newspapers at that time. It is named after a popular Bulgarian drink, called Rakia.

The typeface is a low-contrast serif that is solid and uniform, it makes a strong statement when it's large. It has a few quirks that make it instantly recognizable - like its variations from classic bold sans-serif characters with a simple look to rounded shapes and oblique structures
